#ConesBeforePhones – IgersOttawa Unite!

Over the summer, I got together with my favourite group of Instagrammers, @IgersOttawa, for an ice cream themed photoshoot outing at Ottawa’s Experimental Farm.

Mink Williams, the group’s organizer, was kind enough to round us all up and supply us with delicious Stella Luna Gelato for the day.  Needless to say, I was thrilled. Who wouldn’t be happy with a tummy full of raspberry cheesecake ice cream? Continue reading #ConesBeforePhones – IgersOttawa Unite!

Warm Days and Chilly Nights: Transitioning to Fall

I don’t like fall. It’s a harbinger of bad, terrible things to come…mainly the Canadian winter.  Last winter almost broke me, with its glacial windchills, frostbite warnings and heating bills cutting into my Chanel Bag savings account. An Interview with a Fashion Idol of Mine: Harper’s Bazaar’s Chrissy Rutherford

I love following fashionistas that I admire who look a little like me.  This thinking stems from years of growing up where the beauty ideal was uber-gorgeous blondes that dominated the runways and fashion magazines during the 90s.  While I loved the original Supermodels, I couldn’t really relate to any of them (except for Naomi Campbell). I remember even as a teenager being frustrated when women like Claudia Schiffer and Stephanie Seymour would be interviewed, divulging their makeup secrets and favourite red lipsticks and nothing they suggested ever suited me. Case in point, gorgeous blonde model Daniela Pestova being interviewed and stating that her favourite red lipstick of all time was Max Factor’s “Drumbeat Red”.  At the time of the interview, I was a 16-yr-old, makeup-obsessed nerd who ran out to buy that too-orangey lipstick that ate up half of my allowance. My thinking was: “If it looks great on her, it’ll look good on me, right?”  WRONG. Sigh. Tales From A Girl Who Desperately Wants a Chanel Bag

Warning: If you don’t like reading about ridiculous first world problems, then this post is not for you.

Ahhhh yes. First World Problems at their finest.

I’m not the most complex person.  I like sleeping in, cats, dogs, warm cups of tea, goofing off with my sisters and my friends, and I get excited about dumb stuff like finding change in a pocket or two-for-one deals on chocolate bars. Building a Wardrobe on a Budget: What Looks Cheap and What Looks Expensive

For the past couple of years, I have been trying hard to build a wardrobe built on classic, quality pieces that I can wear for years to come.  So far, so good.  I have been actively shunning H&M and Forever 21, as more often than not, the pieces I’ve bought at these two stores wash terribly and don’t last…but then Forever 21 debuted their Contemporary Line and I’ve found myself crossing the threshold of that teenybopper store more often. New York Fashion Week SS 2016 Round Up!

Well, another New York Fashion Week is about to come to a close, and as per usual, it did not disappoint. I had the chance to finally sit down and watch some of the shows last night live streaming from New York, and wanted to share some of my favourite looks.

If you haven’t already guessed, I love feminine, dreamy looks. The more lady-like, ultra-girly, covered in beads, sequins and embroidery…the better.  That being said, I love myself a cool, edgy look too. Continue reading New York Fashion Week SS 2016 Round Up!
