I love following fashionistas that I admire who look a little like me. This thinking stems from years of growing up where the beauty ideal was uber-gorgeous blondes that dominated the runways and fashion magazines during the 90s. While I loved the original Supermodels, I couldn’t really relate to any of them (except for Naomi Campbell). I remember even as a teenager being frustrated when women like Claudia Schiffer and Stephanie Seymour would be interviewed, divulging their makeup secrets and favourite red lipsticks and nothing they suggested ever suited me. Case in point, gorgeous blonde model Daniela Pestova being interviewed and stating that her favourite red lipstick of all time was Max Factor’s “Drumbeat Red”. At the time of the interview, I was a 16-yr-old, makeup-obsessed nerd who ran out to buy that too-orangey lipstick that ate up half of my allowance. Well, another New York Fashion Week is about to come to a close, and as per usual, it did not disappoint. I had the chance to finally sit down and watch some of the shows last night live streaming from New York, and wanted to share some of my favourite looks.
I am thrilled to announce that I am giving away 3 sets of double passes to an advance screening of the Warner Bros. Pictures Canada film “The Intern”.
Starring Academy Award Winners Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway, this film is about a 70-year-old widower who isn’t content with retirement and believes life still has more in store for him, so he applies to be a senior intern at an online fashion site where he befriends and mentors his much younger co-workers and boss.
A few weeks ago I was presented with an amazing opportunity to work in a styling suite at the Toronto International Film Festival! Dressing celebrities attending red carpet events – could you ask for anything more? To say I was “thrilled” is the understatement of the century.
Once I was confirmed, I sped down to Toronto to get to work. It was like a dream come true – our team would be working out of the multi-million dollar penthouse of the Trump Tower in downtown Toronto. I’m not sure what was more mindblowing – the penthouse suite, the hundreds of designer gowns available, the glittering jewelry or the amazing team I got to work with. I’m still buzzing from the experience! Continue reading Style Domination Goes to the Toronto International Film Festival 2015!
Last week, I was incredibly fortunate to work in a stylist suite in Toronto performing public relations duties and styling celebrities for red carpet events for the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) 2015. It was an amazing and surreal experience!
