Oscars 2016: Best & Worst Dressed

As we all know, this year’s Oscars Award Show was “interesting”. With the uproar over the lack of diversity of nominees (#OscarsSoWhite), to the frankly, quite boring selection of movies for Best Picture, I didn’t really plan on watching.

I couldn’t help but tune in though at 11:30pm, just to see my boyfriend Leonardo DiCaprio win his much-deserved Oscar. In actuality, I cheered so loud when he won that I woke up my husband. Hey! LEO DESERVED IT!   Continue reading Oscars 2016: Best & Worst Dressed

Bag Bliss: Alexander McQueen Heroine Tote

So, it’s safe to say that my Chanel Bag saving is dead in the water. Yes – I’m disappointed in myself. Sigh.

I was severely sidetracked when the opportunity presented itself to own this beauty: the Alexander McQueen Heroine Bag. Continue reading Bag Bliss: Alexander McQueen Heroine Tote

How To Deep Condition Your Hair Using Natural Oils

Hi all!

Here is my latest YouTube video on how I deep condition my hair using a coconut, almond and castor oil mixture.

The star of this video is Kreyol Essence’s Haitian Black Castor Oil available on the Malachite + Elephant website.

Some great examples below from the Time Magazine annual photography contest can attest to this. Continue reading How To Get That Perfect Shot – My Favourite Photos of 2015

Despite it being -500C outside, I’m heartened knowing that there is only a few more weeks of horrible winter left. You know what that means? Spring fashion is right around the corner. Continue reading Moto Jacket Street Style

4 Great Ways To Brighten Your Space For Spring

Around this time of year, I start thinking about summer constantly.  I look miserably at my big, heavy winter coat and clunky boots and long for hot, sunny days.

The Lowdown on Shopping for Sizes Online

When technology made it possible for us to buy clothes online, it saved us trips to the mall and hauling a bunch of shopping bags from store to store. Although we do love shopping, it definitely should be considered as a form of exercise considering how much walking and carrying bags we have to endure. But the one thing that many women still seem to not get quite right is estimating their size without the help of a fitting room. Shopping online may be convenient, however the beauty of trying on clothes in store is that you can immediately ask for a size up or down when you feel that the items don’t fit right. Statistics displayed on The Guardian may indicate that 47% more people are purchasing clothes and footwear online compared to two years ago, yet some of us are still struggling to get the handle of it.
