GGPAA Glam with The Hudson’s Bay

In two short days, I’ll be headed to the Governor General’s Performing Arts Awards (GGPAA) with the Darling, Incredibly Handsome Husband. This Saturday, June 11th, we’ll be attending the National Arts Centre to attended this premiere event which will feature film portraits by the National Film Board, awesome performances and tributes by guest stars Chantal Kreviachuk and more!

At this very moment, I’m scheduling my hair and makeup appointments, picking out shoes, jewelry and clutches, and pondering such important things as glitter polish or subdued shellac. So yeah, I’m pretty much in my element right now. I’ll admit – I was a little stressed about what to wear for this event. While I’ve been lucky to amass a nice collection of formal dresses over the past year, I really wanted a show-stopper for this glamourganza. Thankfully for me and a handful of my favourite bloggers, The Hudson’s Bay Company swooped in and saved the day.

Earlier this week, myself and some fellow bloguettes including Katrina of Oui c’est chic, Emily of The Best of This Life and Marilou of Twenty York Street met up at The Bay for an exclusive fitting of beautiful formal gowns. This was especially fun as we were provided with an opportunity to be styled by Pamela Cutler, The Bay Rideau’s Personal Stylist. Personal styling is a new, complementary service offered to The Bay’s clientèle, which is very welcome and further enhances The Bay Rideau Centre’s current major transformation. Upon being greeted by Diane Davis, Sales Manager, Ladies Fashions and Intimates, Hudson’s Bay Rideau, we were whisked off to the bright and modern personal styling office to view our dress selections.

You must check out The Bay’s completely renovated ground floor is which bright and sparkling thanks to the ton of natural light that flows into the space. In addition, The Bay has added some great new brands such as Kiehl’s and Yves St. Laurent cosmetics, Weekend MaxMara, Theory, DVF, Karl Lagerfeld, Marc Jacobs and more. Serious shopping goals, right there.
