Socially Conscious, Sustainable Luxury: Une écharpe - une vie | www.styledomination.com

A little about myself…

My name is Dominique and I’m an Ottawa-based lifestyle blogger. A public servant by day, my blog, www.styledomination.com, serves as a creative outlet highlighting my deep interest in fashion and beauty with a focus on humour.

Style Domination  is simply a play on my name. My blog highlights how I “Dom-ify” my clothing, so really, it’s more of a focus on “Style Domification” of current trends and classic pieces alike. I don’t pretend to dominate anything!

How I got started…

In the early part of 2015, my husband suggested I start a blog featuring all of the fun things I get up to …a way for him to keep up with me as he accepted a three-month long work assignment in the South Pacific. What started as a medium to share my crazy adventures and love of style, soon turned into a go-to destination for beauty advice and reviews, fashion, and lifestyle.

I’ve been presented with so many wonderful opportunities since I launched Style Domination and in addition to blogging, I now speak to groups  in the Ottawa area about how to boost confidence and self-esteem through style.

Be sure to check out my Instagram page for more fashion and beauty, and I have a host of fashion, beauty and lifestyle-related videos on my YouTube channel.

Thanks for following along,

Dominique

    1. Hi Alyssa! First and foremost – write about what you love. That will show through your posts and people will be attracted to that. Secondly, tag your posts properly! For example, if you are writing about a Chanel Bag, use the tags “Chanel Bag, Chanel, Designer Bag, Karl Lagerfeld, Designer, Fashion, BOTD (bag of the day)”, etc. Keep your tags general enough that people searching on the net can find them. Thirdly, people love bright, clear pictures that are framed well and interesting. Google “Blogging for beginners” – there are lots of great tips out there, and check out this link: http://stylecaster.com/a-beginners-guide-to-starting-a-blog/. It helped me greatly. Have fun and enjoy blogging! You are going to do great! xoxoxoxo

    1. You’re welcome! Excellent (on all counts)!!! I have a bad back too thanks to all the gardening. So annoying. I think I’m singlehandedly keeping my physiotherapist in business. I should put my husband to work too! xo
