Easter Chic: Brightening Up The Wardrobe For Spring

While visiting my sister in Toronto a few weeks ago, I popped into my not-so-secret favourite store, Aritzia, and picked up a few items that instantly made me feel less freezing cold and looking forward to spring. I had been on the hunt for a huge, cozy blanket scarf for months to keep me from freezing to death in my office, and Aritzia had more than enough to choose from. I have been on the hunt for a really cool pair of reflective sunnies that were stylish and fun, and didn’t make me look like an extra from CHiPs (google it, young ones). Continue reading Shade Style Courtesy Of Firmoo.com + GIVEAWAY!

Crop Tops & Midi Skirts – My New Best Friends

“Crop top” – two little innocuous words that strike fear into the hearts of most women. I understand. I was never really a fan of exposing my “hamburger processor” for the world to see. Under $100: Festival Fashion Essentials

With several music festivals on the horizon in my neck of the woods (RBC Ottawa Bluesfest 2015, TD Ottawa Jazz Festival, Osheaga, City Folk), festival fashion is on the brain!

While my first goal will be to enjoy all of the great bands, my close second will be looking festival-appropriate and comfortable. Summer in Ottawa, Canada is normally a scorcher, so my clothing staples are shorts, breezy dresses, t-shirts, tanks and crops.  One problem my friends and I normally run into though is looking “original”.  Ottawa is such a small city with so-so shopping (unless you know where to go), you are bound to be wearing the same thing as someone else.  I remember going to Bluesfest a few years ago and wearing a cute, frilly, orange romper from Forever 21.  I thought I was safe from duplication since orange is typically a difficult colour to wear but nooooooo!  I think my friends and I counted about 15 other girls wearing the exact same romper. FAIL. My friends still tease me about that one. Continue reading Under $100: Festival Fashion Essentials
