Consisting of the “work horses” of your closet (pants, blazers and the like), the work wardrobe can get a little boring. How can you breathe a little life into your work attire while still being comfortable during the summer heat? Add some beautiful and classic skirts! Over the past few weeks, I have cleared out my closet of pieces I no longer use or no longer fit. While I do this annually, this particular clear-out was an emotionally charged one. I had a few of my designer bags stolen late last year and every time I look at the empty space in my closet where they should be, I’m reminded of that painful experience. For the past few years, I have been desperate to go to World MasterCard Fashion Week in Toronto, but life always seemed to get in the way. Early this year though, I started planning, and I planned hard because NOTHING was stopping me this time.
I knew that getting tickets to the shows, especially the very popular ones like Pink Tartan and Mackage, was going to be hard, so I started stalking the WMCFW website like it was my full-time job. Once I was confirmed, I sped down to Toronto to get to work. It was like a dream come true – our team would be working out of the multi-million dollar penthouse of the Trump Tower in downtown Toronto. I’m not sure what was more mindblowing – the penthouse suite, the hundreds of designer gowns available, the glittering jewelry or the amazing team I got to work with. I’m still buzzing from the experience! Continue reading Style Domination Goes to the Toronto International Film Festival 2015!
I don’t generally watch awards shows. I find them too long, too boring and always cringeworthy. From the embarrassing speeches to the embarrassing behaviour…it’s just too much. From what I’ve read this morning, the VMAs confirmed my thoughts on awards shows. Justin Bieber’s strange emotional performance, the “ladylike” behavior of Nicki Minaj, Miley Cyrus’ ridiculous outfit and Kanye declaring his bid for the presidency in 2020? Let’s just say that I’m glad I spent my evening watching four straight episodes of Orange is the New Black. Continue reading VMAs: Fashion Risks and Costumes Abound
